Hinweise:	"The style of something is the general way in which it is done or presented", as the Collins COBUILD English Dictionary (1995: 1661) states. Accordingly, linguistic stylistics deals with phenomena of language variation, i.e. all the choices that a language user has at his/her disposal to encode a given state of affairs. In this seminar, some major theoretical approaches and practical studies focusing on the all-pervading variability in language use will be discussed. PhD students are most welcome.
