Hinweise:	This is the first of a series of workshops intended to introduce participants to politically engaged trajectories of cultural studies. Excerpts from seminal texts in animal studies will be discussed; the background of this field of inquiry will be introduced, and current directions of animal studies’ projects such as "becoming animal" will be investigated.
