Information for Visiting Scholars

Every semester, the GCSC takes in a limited number of self-funded Visiting Doctoral Students and Researchers, who are eligible to partake in and contribute to our curriculum and benefit from our extensive network and infrastructure. Visiting Scholars are equipped with a workspace, but cannot be supported financially. In order to apply for a GCSC Visiting Scholarship (temporary membership), we would ask you to submit the following documents:

• A short CV and copies of all degree certificates.
• A research proposal (of no more than 10 pages) including a detailed account of the project’s relevance to the GCSC’s research profile.
• Two letters of recommendation (one from the principal supervisor) commenting on the research proposal and the envisaged benefits gained from a visiting scholarship at Giessen
• A covering letter that outlines the candidate's motivation for applying at the GCSC
