KULT_online reviews recent publications related to the study of culture

In order to offer doctoral students early opportunities to publish and to enhance their writing skills, the GGK established its own interdisciplinary online review journal, KULT_online, in 2003. KULT_online appears twice each semester and features reviews in German, written by both German and foreign doctoral students, of books published in Germany within the last two years which bear a relation to the study of culture. The online journal is edited by the head of the GGK and GCSC and a graduate assistant from the GGK team. An editorial board of professors from different departments additionally guarantees the quality of the reviews. Suggestions for books to review can be found in the continuously updated KULT_bibliography. Thus, KULT_online also provides an overview of recent publications on topics related to the study of culture. If you are interested in writing a review, please look here for more information on KULT_online or contact the editor, Mirjam Bitter, by email: mirjam.bitter@gcsc.uni-giessen.de.

Anthologies published by GGK-affiliated professors and students

With the support of the GGK, several volumes of collected essays have already been published. Usually these combine articles written by junior and senior researchers (submitted in German or in English), and doctoral students always enjoy extensive support and guidance from the editors. The volumes document the results of conferences or workshops which are largely organised by the doctoral students themselves. Some of the publications are a result of work done in the International PhD Programme (IPP) while others were realised within the Graduate Research Groups and edited by the students in cooperation with their supervisors. The volumes are published by prestigious publishing houses such as Gunter Narr and de Gruyter.

The first seven anthologies published by GGK-affiliated professors and students are:
