The GCSC

The International Graduate Centre for the Study of Culture (GCSC) at Justus Liebig University Giessen (JLU) aims to establish optimum conditions for doctoral candidates focussing on the study of culture. Our Courses and Conferences promote the advancement of theoretical and methodological aspects of the field and expose students to a great variety of approaches and perspectives. Not only do we offer an inspiring research environment that brings together renowned faculty and junior scholars, but also provide our doctoral students with structured support that is tailored to their needs and further qualifies them for their future careers, such as offered through our teaching centre and career service.
